ロバート・カミングはクリスティーズ・エデュケーション会長。ケンブリッジ大学で法律と美術史を学び、テート・ギャラリーの教育部門を経て、1978年クリスティーズ入社。最初の美術教育講座を始めた。そして、クリスティーズが、ロンドン、スコットランド、ニューヨーク、パリ、オーストラリアなどでの講座によって、美術・装飾に関する国際プログラムの指導的立場へと発展していく姿を見守ってきた。彼の著書はいくつかの国際的な賞を受賞している。本書の姉妹編である『世界名画の謎《作品編》』もある(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)
